Hello again and Happy Halloween Month! With the Holidays around the corner, I've been pretty busy at my job which also means very little time to develop this site further. Other than that, I've been meaning to update this blog for a while especially considering it's been almost a month since my last entry.
There's not a super whole lot to report other than the fact that I did attempt to start a live stream last weekend, but I wasn't feeling in the right mood. I even had a migraine to go along with it due to the change in outdoor climate, so I wasn't risking doing a live stream just to end up not having fun with it. Otherwise, I'm thinking of trying again next weekend. If I do go through with it, it'll be on my usual Twitch channel.
There's more though; I have not elaborated on why I was doing the live stream. I'd been thinking about doing more of my Dreamcast stuff. In addition, I also received a custom VMU in the mail recently which I've been very satisfied with so far. ... Well, apart from not having much guidance on how to properly remove the lid, so now one of the hinges is broken and it hadn't even been a day since I had this thing in my hands!! OTL
Anyways, I bought this custom VMU (VM2) from an IndieGoGo campaign run by the one-man team behind some of the wireless peripherals and mods for the SEGA Dreamcast, Dreamware Enterprises. It works fantastic out of the box, including with the provided GUI software. When the GUI first shipped out, I wasn't quite aware that the VM2 streaming feature hadn't been implemented so I had to verify with Mr. Daioglou that it was in fact not implemented.
So fast forward to today and now there's a version of the VM2 GUI (v1.2.0.0) that has the streaming feature implemented; if you follow me on the birdsite, you may have seen this video of my Daytona USA gameplay alongside the VM2 output. The gameplay video is out-of-sync with the VMU output because I left the 'buffering' option enabled for the game capture, which was there before I switched my capture card from the HD60 Pro to the GC573. Other than that, it works like a beauty and I can now finally show off what's going on with the memory card itself without resorting to emulation!
That's all I have for now. With all that said, I hope you all have a nice rest of the month and a good amount of tasty treats (as opposed to tricks).
